Ahhh yes, going to do a few rounds of the JBRL at Hot Rod Hobbies!
Yesterday the track was changed and it's the smoothest and fastest layout i've seen there. Going to break out the big sway bars and up the diff oils
There's a sweeping bank turn at the end of the straight that goes the entire width of the track. The bank turn sweeps right into a drop-down double.
There were about 20 of us with shovels and rakes, and a good skid steer to move it all around.
1/8th Nitro will be off the hook.
Pictures later! _________________ http://rcvisions.net

Had a great time at Hotrod tonight. First time on the track with the new XST.
1st qual. Truck was loose.. reaaaly loose. But was pulling the front wheels up at about half way down the straight
2nd qual, adjusted camber and toe.. better but still way loose.
Main, limited front droop drastically, and limited rear droop but not as much as front. Hooked better on the straight and kept the front wheels from coming up on the straight as often.
Went from 8th place to 4th in about 11 laps. Truck was a real hand full but managed to keep moving up.
Pitted at 6 min. 30 sec. Pit guy said I still had fuel when he filled it. So I know I can go at least 7min with the engine/pipe I was using. 457pro/JP3 pipe. (perfect combo)
My conclusion? Diffs were in need of heavier oil. My XST was "diffing out" badly.
I started with 10/20/5 fcr and it's way to thin. I'll try doubling it next time out. Thought it might be different than the Mammoth ST but it looks like it wants close to the same diff oils.
BTW, nothing broke through 2 quals and the main event, and the 457pro with JP3 on O'Donnell 30% had no problem with the high dollar motors at hotrod tonight. It might have a bit too much bottom end (squirrely ) but top end was smooth and it pulled HARD.. (It surprised everyone with high speed wheelies)
All this running at 197-209deg.
After pitting at 6min 30sec had 3 1/2 min to go. Got tangled with traffic and my fuel tank lid pull strap got snagged... dumped my fuel, ran out of nitro with about 60sec to go.
Still... what a kick!
Laura got a few pics. As soon as I can i'll post up. _________________ http://rcvisions.net

Pic right after the race. looks pretty good considering the abuse it took at hotrod.
